Chris Saunders White Tiger Mandala Print

No comments:

Chris Saunders has released another incredible print in his Mandala series with 1xRUN, White Tiger. The print is 24 x 24 Inches 3-Color Screen Print on 290gsm Coventry Rag Fine Art Paper.

"I got commissioned to create a 55ft mural on the side of a karate dojo in Santa Monica and the owner originally wanted a lion. I had never done a mural before and I was pretty much scared shitless to do it and tried to come up with every excuse in the world not to do it because I thought I wouldn't be able to pull it off. I was literally losing sleep over it and so stressed out and in my head about it until one night I decided I was gonna pull the plug on it. After I fell asleep I had this vision of this Tiger and it came through so strong with such fire that I knew I had to go forward with it. I knew I had to attack that fear straight on or I wouldn't grow at all as an artist." - Chris Saunders

Introducing Icy Skullz Resin Figures

2 comments:

So if you remember I released some resin Star Wars pieces last year(Click HERE to see them). I now have some new items you might dig. First are some superhero logos that like the others glow in the dark. There are now some Alien heads and eggs as well.

The coolest ones are Icy Skullz. Some change color, most glow in the dark, some even have a real bullet in the top of the skull. The ones I dig the most are the Grateful Dead ones that are  red, white and blue.

The all come with a bag to keep them in and glow in the dark like you would not believe.

Super heroes, Aliens and more buy them HERE

Richey Beckett Zardoz Movie Poster Release From Mondo

No comments:

On Thursday Mondo excited to release a stunning new poster for Zardoz by Richey Beckett. Myself, I'm just happy to see Sean Connery on a poster.

Here's what Richey had to say about the film and his idea behind the poster:
"ZARDOZ is a fantastic movie and I was thrilled to be invited to create this poster for it. I feel that over the years people's fascination with the outlandish outfits and tripped out dialogue has distracted from what really is a brilliantly ambitious sci-fi saga jam-packed with iconic imagery and at the heart of it, a compelling and solid story.

After immersing myself in it I found such a wealth of aesthetically delicious visuals that it became impossible to fit everything I wanted into this poster. I could've created an entire series exploring the visual feast of Boorman's alternate universe. So after seemingly endless pruning I was left with the core elements that made up the final illustration, and took the liberty of showing a metaphoric destruction of the iconic stone godhead as my own twist on the tale. My aim was to create a poster that celebrates the ambition, spectacle and dare I say beauty of ZARDOZ, hopefully doing justice to the movie's true spirit and creating a hero of the man who dared to challenge his god (in knee-high hooker boots)."
The poster is 24"x36" screen print. Hand numbered. Edition of 225.

Laurent Durieux To Catch a Thief Movie Poster Release From Dark Hall Mansion

No comments:

Dark Hall Mansion is pleased to share its latest officially licensed limited edition fine art print release with artist Laurent Durieux, Alfred Hitchcock's 1955 "To Catch a Thief," and on sale this Friday, April 1st!!

Dark Hall Mansion, under license from Paramount Pictures and the Alfred Hitchcock estate, will release the Master of Suspense's 1955 romantic thriller that finds Hitchcock exploring the rarefied world of the French Riviera via his traditional themes of the 'wrong man,' duality of identity, romantic entanglement and its inherent cost, and of course, the role of law and the individual. DHM welcomes back artist Laurent Durieux who has created an elegant, dynamic, and restrained print worthy of the film's thematics and legacy. A lovely Durieux story print, Laurent has set up not only Hitchcock's tension inducing composition questioning who is really 'the cat,' but beautifully rendering one of Hitchcock's most famed romantic visual send-ups, "To Catch a Thief's" classic fireworks scene, by elegantly referencing and abstracting both his leading lady and the jewels that so intricately frame this Hitchcock film.

There will be a Standard edition, Variant with GID (Glow-in-the-Dark layer), select Foil, and an exclusive edition of only 15 canvases (total) based on both colorways. Know all "To Catch a Thief" editions will be screen printed in Belgium by Laurent's personal printer of choice and also allowing for ALL editions to be signed by artist Laurent Durieux himself.

"To Catch a Thief" Standard Edition of 350 $70
"To Catch a Thief" Variant Edition of 150 with GID (Glow-in-the-Dark layer) $100

Emek National Fear Association T-Shirt

No comments:

The fine folks at Nakatomi have joined with artist extraordinaire EMEK to bring his amazing National Fear Association design to T-Shirts for a limited time!

NOTE- First 50 orders will also get a 4×4 circle sticker of the NFA logo, AUTOGRAPHED by EMEK himself!

Best of all, Nakatomi and EMEK will donate 100% of all profits to Everytown For Gun Safety, a non-profit that does the good work of standing up to the NRA and their quest for increased profits for gun manufacturers. The NRA has proven time and again what their real goal is- more guns, and going against the will of the American public regarding common-sense gun-legislation. And how do you sell more guns? By selling FEAR. The more afraid people are- the more guns they buy. Violent crime rates in America are falling to levels not seen in decades – Americans are safer now than at just about any point in the last 20 years- but that goes against their narrative. So in this political season, take a stand for sanity and help us make a BIG donation to Everytown for Gun Safety, and rock this sweet t-shirt!

ABOUT THE SHIRT- Nakatomi will take pre-orders for this shirt from now until Friday night at MIDNIGHT Central time, and printing should begin the following week! This is a Gildan 100% ringspun cotton t-shirt will feature metallic gold ink!

***SHIRTS ARE AVAILABLE NOW HERE***

If you’d prefer this as a sticker as well, EMEK is selling sticker packs produced by the fine folks at Sticker Robot, get them HERE in his webstore.

Shepard Fairey C.R.Stecyk III POP Wave Prints Release Details

No comments:

Shepard Fairey has another collaboration print being released soon from Obey Giant.

"This P.O.P. Wave print is a collaboration with artist and photographer Craig Stecyk A.K.A. C.R. Stecyk III. If you aren’t familiar with Stecyk by name, you probably know many of the things he has done over the years. In the 1970’s Stecyk was co-founder of the Zephyr surf team and a seminal creative force in the the Dogtown surf and skate scene. Stecyk went on to work as a creative director for Powell-Peralta skateboards during their 1980’s era of domination. In addition to creating well known iconography like Powell-Peralta’s “Rat Bones” logo and the Thrasher “Skate and Destroy” typography, Stecyk was very involved in the highly influential Bones Brigade skateboard videos.

Around the year 2000 I reached out to Stecyk to get his OK to do a “Paste and Destroy”(a poster wheat-sting reference) tee shirt design inspired by his “Skate and Destroy." He gave me his blessing, and in hindsight, I’m glad I asked permission, because shortly after that I was asked to design the soundtrack package for the documentary film Dogtown and Z-Boys which featured Stecyk’s photography. Stecyk didn’t hate the work I did on the soundtrack package, so he let me make an illustration of legendary skateboarder Jay Adams based on one of his photos. Craig and I have remained friends and the opportunity recently came up for us to collaborate again on imagery for a mural in Venice, CA, Stecyk’s stomping grounds. I have enjoyed making illustrations of waves as part of my environmentally themed art over the last few years, so I was excited to make an illustration based on Stecyk’s 1970’s photo of a wave curling in front the decaying Pacific Ocean Park pier (P.O.P.). The Zephyr surf team used to localize the pier and shoot the waves through its ragged pilings in poetic demonstrations of humankind and nature in harmony rather than conflict. The P.O.P. Wave is a reminder not to mess with nature unless you want to be punched back hard. In the battle of the waves versus the P.O.P., the surfers knew who would prevail."-Shepard
"The Pacific Ocean Park pier straddled a dividing line between the cities of Santa Monica and Los Angeles. It was in equal portions: a legal quagmire; an abandoned amusement park; a venerable historic artifact; a phenomenal surfing spot, home to acres of unregulated skateable concrete; a site of endless free building materials; and blocks of free space to host any imaginable enterprise.

For a time I worked the POP enviorns for all of the above reasons. Cops from the differing municipalities were loathe to interdict there, as it constituted a jurisdictional no-man's land. So no one ever bothered me. It was a great time and a phenomenally inspirational place. This photo documents one such morning. " - C.R.Stecyk lll
"P.O.P. Wave" print collaboration with C.R. Stecyk III, offered in two editions: Blue, and Gold. Prints are signed by Shepard and C.R. Stecyk III. Both numbered editions of 300. $65. 18 inches by 24 inches screen print. Available Tuesday, April 5th at 10AM PST on ObeyGiant.com

Half Hazard Press The Schwag Grateful Dead Posters

No comments:

Half Hazard Press has released two new posters this week for The Schwag, a Grateful Dead tribute band and their shows in Bloomington and Urbana. These are 16”x20”, 4-color screen prints.

A bit about the art:
The Schwag dedicates to keeping the look and sound of legendary American rock band the Grateful Dead alive. This is the second design we worked on for them, and includes a color variant for an additional local show. Always finding inspiration in the artwork associated with the Dead, we were beyond stoked to get to work on this and experiment with some iconic imagery. Pulling from the Art Nouveau era, we wanted to create a stained-glass effect with the framing and background to add a sense of beauty to visuals than can often be seen as dark.-HHP

Scott Marsh Kanye Loves Kanye Print

1 comment:

WOW this just might be the funniest thing 1xRUN has done ever. This past week Australian artist Scott Marsh made waves with his Kanye Loves Kanye mural in Sydney, Australia getting coverage on Reddit, Elle, Cosmopolitan, Huffpost, Vice, Buzzfeed and Perez Hilton just to name a few. Setting up alongside fellow Aussie vandal Lush, Marsh's massive interpretation of Kanye kissing Kanye comes in three limited editions available now. If you're offended (or you're Kanye) for only $100,000 the artist will buff the mural and buff a one-off limited edition oversized print.

"This mural is my painted interpretation of a meme of Kanye West kissing Kanye West, it's located in Chippendale in Sydney, Australia. Chippendale is Sydney’s creative precinct. I am currently in the process of painting a 1 off studio version of this piece on canvas which will be for sale in the near future.

This work has become a glowing example of the power of social media, the Internet and modern cult of celebrity. Images of this mural have gone globally viral, it received over 2 million hits on its Reddit post, has been featured by media outlets such as Elle, Cosmopolitan, Huffpost, Vice, Buzzfeed, Perez Hilton and E! News to name a few. I have been told it is the first viral meme based artwork in art and meme history, whatever that means haha..." - Scott Marsh

You can get a timed limited edition print measuring 11 x 17 inches. This Timed Edition will be available from March 28th at 12pm EST through April 11th at 3pm EST at which time the edition will be closed to the number sold. Or the larger limited edition of 25 measuring 16 x 24 inches.

Rob Loukotka The ACME Corporation 'Iron Anvil' Variant Poster

No comments:

Rob Loukotka just released a variant of the famous ACME Poster (in a comparatively small edition size) with a more subtle metallic grayscale color palette. He did a huge flat file sale of some the old Red & Copper ones he had, but a few folks over the years had always wanted something that was not a 3 foot tall bright red cartoon explosion in their living room. Not everybody, Rob wanted to make a small 'classy' looking grayscale version of the design for them as well.

Anyway, the details:
A giant poster of every ACME product, ever. 126 drawings of explosives, gadgets, rockets, and more!

The ACME Corporation 'Iron Anvil' Variant
Reich Metallic Shine 'Iron Satin' Paper 98C 2 Color Screen Print
Edition Size of 250
Signed and Numbered by Rob Loukotka

Galerie F C2E2 Print Releases

No comments:

What a weekend Galerie F had at C2E2! They put a lot of work in over the last few months getting artists to create new pieces exclusively for the show, printing them and then turning the gallery upside down to fill the rest of the booth so it was awesome to finally get around to the show as it's one of their favorite weekends of the year. This year they got exclusive work by some of their biggest artists.

Dan Mumford is bringing the apocalypse to his new print, invoking Fallout, Mad Max & I Am Legend.

Epyon5 has added The Dude & Princess Leia to his ever growing roster.

JC Rivera has a great mashup with Wu-Tang & his Bear Champ.

Jason Rowland is giving us acryllic on wood pop culture masks with a twist.

Steven Holliday has a badass and wonderfully detailed Harley Quinn print, complete with a foil variant

Matthew Johnson brings us a brooding version of this month's biggest release; BvS

And last but not least, Justin Van Genderen has created a beautiful tribute to 90's sci fi cult classic Gattaca.
