Crosshair News & New Poster Releases

Codeine For a few short years in the early 90's, Codeine redefined pathos in rock, spawning a horde of lesser imitators retrospectively termed slowcore.  In 2012, a still-unmatched Codeine has reunited for a small number of shows, and onboard is Crosshair.   The poster for their performance at Primavera Sound in Barcelona is a visual response to Codeine's soulful bleakness.  Seven color silkscreen print, edition of 110, available now in the store for $30.

Crosshair also produced an extremely limited edition (15 copies!) textless art-print version.  The title "Ides" is a reference both to the Codeine song of the same name, and the fact that the source photo was shot on the Ides of March.  $50 in the store.

Edward Sharpe And The Magnetic Zeros

When this unique band commissioned Crosshair to do the poster for its May 24th concert at the Riviera in Chicago, Dan knew that it required a new and different approach.  ES&TMZ are as close as anything to the opposite of Codeine, and the credo Bleak Is Beautiful simply does not apply to the sort of positive energy they project.  The image is an imaginary landscape collaged from multiple photos, and for the lettering he enlisted the help of Zach Landrum.  The poster is a seven-color silkscreen print, edition of 225, $30 in the store.

Lucero
This one was made for the Memphis roots-rockers' April 7th show at Metro, Chicago.
Six-color silkscreen print, edition of 200.  $25 in the store.
