Derek Hess Ground Print + Book Combo on sale today

No comments:
"The piece is based on the song "Ground" by Celtic Frost. I love and cherish that song, I relate to it really well. The lyrics written on the piece are from the song "Mr. Blue Sky" by Electric Light Orchestra. I love and cherish that song as well, but can't relate to it. I thought it made for a nice juxtaposition, the intense pain of "Ground" with the happy, upbeat lyrics of ELO, something very foreign." - Derek Hess

This combo available for $85 includes:
(1) Signed copy of Derek Hess' latest book "Black Line White Lie"
(1) 13 x 13 Signed and numbered print of "Ground"

On sale today at 3pm EDT at 1xRun.com

Jason Edmiston has a couple of rad new posters up for sale in his Etsy Shop.

 Inspired by The Office

Can you determine which character is represented by each item in this picture?

Each print is hand-screened, and made to emulate old school rock posters, with a slightly looser drawing and printing style.

Originally for sale through Gallery 1988 for the television Q and A event PaleyFest, in March of 2012.

4 color, 18" x 24" screenprint on heavy paper. Numbered limited edition of 300, and unlike Gallery 1988's copies, these are signed by Jason.

This print was created for Revolver magazine's Golden Gods Awards in April of 2012. An annual heavy metal awards show, this year featured performances and appearances by legends such as Marilyn Manson, Slash, Gene Simmons, Dee Snider, and Nikki Sixx.

These are Artist Proof copies, limited edition of 100, signed and numbered. 24" x 36" lithograph on heavy stock.

Variants Revealed

Dark Hall Mansion is thrilled to finally unveil a project that has been in development for over one full year: the first officially licensed, limited edition print Folio for The Beatles 1968 cinematic masterpiece, Yellow Submarine.

Dark Hall Mansion has been working closely with Live Nation Merchandise, The Beatles’ North American Licensing Agent, and Apple Corps Ltd. in developing a series of limited edition screen prints by leading contemporary artist, Tom Whalen, all to be offered in select, limited edition and numbered print Folios. Tom Whalen’s stunning artwork for these prints draws directly from The Beatles’ legendary 1968 classic Yellow Submarine and is the first time The Beatles have formally allowed a contemporary artist to reinterpret their classic film’s imagery within an art print format.

Tom Whalen has crafted an extraordinary series of 5 prints for The Beatles official Yellow Submarine Folio that reinterprets Yellow Submarine while staying faithful to its timeless legacy of originality. Each print is individually numbered, 18″ x 24″ in size, and each is lovingly and meticulously screen printed, by hand, with all prints housed within their own Folio protective cases, also designed by artist Tom Whalen and beautifully bearing the film’s classic Yellow Submarine and original 1968 film release date on its respective case cover. An extraordinary set whose select and limited edition run numbers ensures they will be competed for byBeatles collectors and fans worldwide, each Whalen print is a stand alone work of beauty that captures the essence and magic that is Yellow Submarine.

The limited edition Yellow Submarine Folios, each with 5 completely different screen prints per Folio, each print representing a key moment or theme from Yellow Submarine, will be highly collectible as there will be only 797 Standard Folio Editions, 135 Variant Folio Editions (in a varied color way) plus an exclusive edition of 68 Folio Editions, the “Elite ’68,” which will be rendered in yet another completely different color scheme with striking metallic inks and with each individual print within the Elite edition personally signed by artist Tom Whalen.

Yellow Submarine, based upon a song by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, is a fantastic tale brimming with peace, love, and hope, propelled by Beatles songs, including “Eleanor Rigby,” “When I’m Sixty-Four,” “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,” “It’s All Too Much,” and “All You Need Is Love.” When the film debuted in 1968, it was instantly recognised as a landmark achievement, revolutionizing a genre by integrating the freestyle approach of the era with innovative animation techniques. Inspired by the generation’s new trends in art, the film resides with the dazzling Pop Art styles of the ’60s.

All Yellow Submarine Folios, regardless of edition, are strictly numbered and come with their own official COA (Certificate of Authenticity). These officially licensed Beatles Yellow Submarine Folios will be offered for sale on May 29, 2012 exclusively through Dark Hall Mansion, http://www.DarkHallMansion.com/ via their online store http://www.darkhallmansionstore.com and will coincide with the release of the digitally restored 1968 animated feature film Yellow Submarine. Pricing and availability of The Beatles Yellow Submarine Folio editions will be $300 for the Standard Folio Edition of 5 prints, $450 for the Variant Folio Edition of 5 prints and $675 for the Elite ’68 Folio Edition of 5 prints, with each housed in its custom designed protective case along with its own registered COA (Certificate of Authenticity).

All Yellow Submarine Folio Editions will on sale at Dark Hall Mansion’s online Store: on May 29, 2012 at 9:30 AM PST.

Jon Smith Poster Show are 112 Printworks in Seattle

No comments:
Jon Smith is the featured artist for April at Rick G's 112 Print Works in Seattle, a ton of his work is up on the wall there and for sale until they take it down on the 4th for the May show.

There's a bunch of Jon's stuff there, most of the concert posters he's done from the last couple years BUT the point of the post is that he pulled out a couple(like 2 or 3) of his sold out Nothing Is Fucked and Wiser Fella prints just for local folks. This the last chance for the Seattle uber collector nerds to get one of these prints if they missed out since Jon is moving to Austin soon.

The other thing is he did a print for that showcase thing but it's not available on the 112 Print Works site yet but they're available in person there.  It's a mashup of imagery from his Built To Spill, Black Keys Detroit, Gaslight Anthem and Walkmen Sasquatch posters. 4 colors, 18"x24" signed and numbered edition of 50

112 Printworks is located at  112 N 36th St, Seattle, WA.

Daniel Danger At The Drive In and American Horror Story Posters on sale today

No comments:
Today, Friday the 27th at 2pm EST, Daniel Danger will be selling copies of both the poster for At The Drive-In's hometown reunion show earlier this month and the American Horror Story panel at Paleyfest 2012.

Official poster for At The Drive In reunion in El Paso, TX. april 13th, 2012
15x30” 5-color screenprint, signed & numbered artists edition of 100. $60
this is based off the infamous “classroom show” bootleg of the band from the late 90s.

 12x24" 5-color screenprint, signed & numbered AP edition of 50. $40
anyone who's caught American Horror Story knows that its a little out there, and its heavy on the atmosphere given the house is pretty much the star of the show. Accordingly, its right up Daniel's alley. For what its worth, according to Daniel this is probably his favorite use of the figure as the light source he's ever pulled off.
